Once you wander off the beaten path you’ll discover the famous Street Art of Valencia. Valencia’s “El Carmen” neighborhood is home to bohemian bars, adorable restaurants, boutiques, and the Institute of Art. It’s the perfect canvas for street artists with the plethora of concrete walls and old buildings. We wandered for an entire evening up and down the countless streets of art. On every corner we stumbled on something beautiful!

Can you believe the detail?! If you spend enough time wandering you may start to recognize the artists and their work. I told you we took a ridiculous amount of photos! How could we not?! On every turn we were surprised by more art!

Valencia is located on the coast of Spain about 3 1/2 hours (by car) south of Barcelona. It is SUPER easy and SUPER cheap to rent a car in Spain so if you have the time I highly recommend it! If that is not an option there is a train from BCN to Valencia that takes about the same time! You can catch that train at the Barcelona Sants Station and use the City Mapper app or Google Maps for exact train and transit times! More information about the trains to and from Valencia and how to get tickets on the Barcelona Tourism site!

If Valencia isn’t on your list of places to see, add it! It has so much to offer with a great beach and the food is to die for as well! That’s kind of the case in all of Spain so if you are a foodie don’t wait to visit! I’ve included a few more travel tips and details if you need ideas on what else to see and where to stay! I really hope you love it!

Where to stay:

  • Airbnb: we stayed here (close to the beach) but I would suggest staying closer to the city center (old town) for a more authentic experience! Unless you would like to be close to the beach, then stay where we stayed! Super clean and comfortably sleeps 3!

How to get around:

  • We had a car but there is a train system throughout the city!

Where to eat:

What to see:
